UrgeAnchor — Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 August 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of UrgeAnchor (the "App"), provided by UrgeAnchor ("we", "us"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Eligibility

UrgeAnchor is for adults 18 and over. By using the App you confirm you are at least 18. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the App — see our Privacy Policy for how the age check works.

2. What UrgeAnchor is — and isn't

UrgeAnchor provides habit-tracking tools, journaling, educational content, guided breathing/meditation, an AI coach, and community features to support people working to change a compulsive porn/masturbation habit.

UrgeAnchor is not a medical device, a mental health service, or a substitute for professional medical, psychiatric, or therapeutic care. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or psychological condition. If you are in crisis or need medical care, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services — the Safety section in the App lists crisis lines by country.

3. Your account and data

Most of the App works without any account — your recovery data lives on your device. Two optional features, Ally and Community, create an anonymous account (no email, no password, no real name) to sync the content you choose to share. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what's collected and how to delete it.

You're responsible for keeping your device secure, since local data isn't protected by a separate password within the App.

4. AI features

The Coach chat, daily lessons, and daily affirmations are generated using a third-party AI service. These are off by default and require your explicit consent (in onboarding or Settings). AI-generated content is for general support and motivation — it is not professional advice, and you shouldn't rely on it for medical, legal, or safety decisions. See our Privacy Policy for what data is sent when these features are on.

5. Community conduct

If you use Ally or Community, you agree to follow our Community Guidelines — no harassment, hate speech, sexual solicitation, spam, links, or content that identifies you or others. We may remove content, disable your access to these features, or take other action for violations, at our discretion. You can report or block other users in-app at any time.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Who you are buying from. When you subscribe through the Apple App Store, Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd.) is the seller and merchant of record for that purchase. Your payment contract for the subscription is with Apple, not with us. The same applies to Google Play and Google in that store. We license the App to you; the store handles the sale.

Because of this, billing, refunds, and cancellations are handled by the store, not by us. To request a refund from Apple, use reportaproblem.apple.com. To cancel, use your device's App Store or Play Store subscription settings. We cannot issue refunds, reverse charges, or cancel a subscription on your behalf.

Your statutory rights. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have cancellation and withdrawal rights in relation to that purchase under applicable consumer law. Because Apple or Google is the seller, those rights are exercised against them, and their own terms describe how — see Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory right you have as a consumer.

If you have any difficulty, contact us anyway and we will help you reach the right place.

7. Intellectual property

The App, its design, text, and features are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Content you post in Community or Ally remains yours, but by posting it you give us a licence to store and display it as needed to operate those features (e.g., showing your post to other members).

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will achieve any particular outcome for your recovery. Use of the App is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including content posted by other users or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, if any.

10. Termination

You can stop using the App anytime, and delete your data via Settings → "Delete all my data." We may suspend or terminate access to Community/Ally features for violations of Section 5, or discontinue the App or any feature at our discretion, with notice where reasonably possible.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and highlight the change in the App. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

This is a solid starting template, not a substitute for review by a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction — recommended before a full public launch, particularly around subscription auto-renewal disclosures (which vary by region) and limitation-of-liability enforceability.
